Quilt Block Challenge: Pollinators on parade
Butterflies, Bees, and Birds, oh my!Â
This yearâs Quilt Block Challenge will have you dreaming of blossoms. Because behind most blooms are a cast of creatures hard at work behind the scenes that make our gardens grow. According to the National Parks Service, a pollinator is defined as anything that helps carry pollen from the stamen to stigma of a flower. This process allows the plant to become fertilized and produce fruits, seeds, and young plants supporting ecosystems and economies (and now quilters) the whole world over. Pollinators come in many shapes and sizes and include bees, wasps, moths, butterflies, birds, flies, small animals and even the wind!
So, regardless of if you are an avid quilter looking for a fun floral challenge, or a new quilter in search of a bumblebee sized project we invite you to give our 2023 Garden of Quilts Block Challenge a go!
Participation is easy. Register using the form below. Within a few days we will ship out a pack of six Riley Blake Designs fat quarters for you to utilize as a springboard in your design. From there you can embellish with other fabrics, applique, embroidery, beadwork, etcetera, all to create a 20ââ x 20â finished quilt block playing off the theme, âPollinators on Parade?â Once your block is complete, email us a picture and we will then send you a release form and further information on submitting your quilts to us.
